Accordions - New Cajun French

"Pelican"
. . . the state bird of Louisiana
This product is sold by the Hohner
Co., and is not made in Louisiana
Cajun French Accordion

Because of the resurgence and growing
popularity of accordions in regional music like Cajun, Zydeco and Tex
Mex, Hohner has designed a new accordion, the Ariette, in the style of
the classic Cajun accordion with four treble stops, an open key
mechanism and traditional Cajun tuning. Comes complete with a hard
shell case and 40 page instruction book. Comes in a natural, wood type
finish.
Item # 12-105 -- $399.95
Please note: Sorry, but there
will be a 15% return fee on this item. Unfortunately, too many people like
to "play around" for a few days then return it.
Yep, as much as I hate to admit it, that's me in 1948 at 9
years old. This is the same accordion that I am selling. (**
please see note below)
This is my
personal accordion, purchased by my parents in Feb., 1948. It is in good
working condition. I have held onto it for 51 years. The original purchase
price in 1948 was $420.00
(Click here to see the ORIGINAL RECEIPT).
It was purchased through the "Joey Buck School of Music" in New
Orleans while I was his student. The receipt shows the $420.00 cost less a
$263.00 trade-in (My old, 24 button accordion). It has a case that is
lined with a red, "fluffy" material. Needless to say, the case
is worn and shows the wear of being moved around for 51 years.
** This is no longer available for sale,
for sentimental reasons. Since our owner (Bert Frilot) passed away, we kept
this on the
site for the story behind it.
